This garden is famous as the first Conifer garden in Japan.
The well established trees and rare plants of this garden have been there since before the
development of Hokkaido.

In the Manabe Garden, red squirrel families have been living since before the development of Hokkaido. Now they have become the garden logo and the motif of cookies. They are and will be dearly loved residents of the garden.
